Pebbles Privacy Policy

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Jadonglab handles information in connection with Pebbles, including the app for iPhone and iPad, widgets, the Apple Watch companion app, this website, and support communications.

Pebbles does not require account registration or sign-in and does not create a server-side user profile or server-side drink history.

2. App information and on-device processing

Pebbles handles drink entries, timestamps, daily totals, quick-log preferences, appearance settings, custom drink images, and daily background settings to provide its features. This information is processed locally and is not transmitted to or collected by Jadonglab.

Pebbles does not collect app data for tracking, advertising, analytics, or sale. The app privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking, and the app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. Camera and selected photos

When you choose to personalize a logged drink or daily background, Pebbles can use a photo you take with the camera or an image you select through Apple's system Photos picker. Camera access occurs only after you choose the camera option. The Photos picker gives Pebbles access only to the image you select, not general access to your photo library.

Pebbles processes the chosen image on your device to prepare, isolate, crop, resize, and encode the image. An optimized copy is stored in Pebbles' local app-group container. Pebbles does not upload the source or processed image to Jadonglabservers. Removing the source from your photo library does not automatically remove Pebbles' local copy.

4. Local storage and security

Pebbles stores drink state and preferences in encrypted Apple UserDefaults app-group storage. The encryption key is kept in Apple Keychain. Custom drink images and daily background images are stored as local files protected by the operating system's data-protection features.

The app group allows Pebbles and its widgets to use the same local state. Depending on your Apple device and backup settings, local Pebbles data may also be included in device backups managed by Apple.

5. Apple Watch synchronization

Pebbles uses Apple's WatchConnectivity service to synchronize drink state between a paired iPhone and Apple Watch. The Watch companion app keeps a local copy so that it can display and add drink entries. This device-to-device synchronization is provided by Apple and does not send drink history to Jadonglab servers.

6. Sharing a recap

Pebbles creates recap images on your device. A recap may include drink information and any custom images or daily background visible on the Home screen. Pebbles presents Apple's system share sheet only when you choose to share.

Information leaves Pebbles only when you select a destination, such as a messaging, social, storage, or other app. The selected destination and its provider handle that information under their own terms and privacy practices. Jadonglab does not select a recipient or receive a copy.

7. Website information

This website does not provide user accounts and does not use advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or a website analytics script. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies.

Google Play waitlist collection notice

If you choose to join the Google Play waitlist, Jadonglab collects the email address you enter. The waitlist is optional and is separate from use of the Pebbles app and the rest of this website.

• Items collected: email address, consent response, and submission time. Tally may also process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the embedded form.
• Purpose: operating the waitlist and sending one notification when Pebbles becomes available on Google Play.
• Retention: until the Google Play launch notification is sent, followed by deletion within 30 days, or earlier if you withdraw consent. A minimal suppression record may be retained where necessary to honor an opt-out and prevent further email.
• Choice: you may decline or withdraw consent. The only consequence is that you will not receive the Google Play launch notification; other Pebbles features and services are unaffected.
• Service providers: Vercel hosts the surrounding website, Tally provides the embedded form and stores submissions, and Google Sheets stores a synchronized waitlist copy. Processing may occur in countries where those providers or their subprocessors operate.

The Tally form is submitted only after you enter a valid email address and affirmatively select the consent checkbox. To withdraw before the launch notice is sent, email dkim@jadonglab.com. The launch notice will also include an unsubscribe option.

The website is hosted by Vercel. When you visit, Vercel's hosting and security systems may process technical request information such as your IP address, request path, date and time, browser or user-agent information, approximate region derived from IP address, response status, and related diagnostic or security data. This information is used to deliver and protect the website and diagnose service issues.Jadonglab does not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Vercel retains and processes this information according to the applicable service configuration and its Privacy Notice. Jadonglab does not use website requests to build individual visitor profiles.

8. Support and privacy communications

If you contact Jadonglab, the information handled may include your email address, name shown by your email service, message, attachments, and details you choose to provide, such as your device model, operating-system version, Pebbles version, or screenshots. This information is used to respond, investigate the issue, maintain support records, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information. Support and privacy communications are ordinarily kept while a request is active and for up to 12 months after the last correspondence, then deleted, unless a longer period is reasonably needed for security, a dispute, recordkeeping, or applicable law.

9. Service providers, disclosure, and international processing

Jadonglab does not sell personal information and does not provide Pebbles app data to advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers. Limited information may be handled by the following providers or categories of providers as necessary:

• Apple, for platform features you use, such as device backup, WatchConnectivity, the Photos picker, and the system share sheet.
• Vercel, for website hosting, delivery, security, and diagnostics.
• Tally, for providing the embedded Google Play waitlist form and storing its submissions.
• Google, for storing a synchronized copy of waitlist submissions in Google Sheets.
• The email service used to receive and respond to support and privacy requests.
• A sharing destination that you intentionally choose from Apple's system share sheet.

These providers may process information in countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a lawful request, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

10. Retention and deletion

• Drink logs and preferences remain in local app storage until Pebbles or its local data is removed from the relevant device.
• A custom drink image remains locally stored until you use Pebbles' remove option, clear the relevant app data, or remove the app.
• A daily background is removed when you remove or replace it and is otherwise automatically removed after 14 days.
• Apple Watch copies remain on the Watch until synchronized data is updated or the companion app or its data is removed.
• Website technical information is retained according to the hosting service configuration and provider policies.
• Google Play waitlist submissions are deleted from Tally and the synchronized Google Sheet within 30 days after the launch notification is sent, or earlier if consent is withdrawn, subject to limited suppression information needed to honor an opt-out.
• Support and privacy communications follow the retention period in Section 8.

Copies included in device backups may remain until those backups are deleted under your Apple settings and Apple's retention practices.

11. Your privacy choices and rights

Because Jadonglabdoes not receive your local Pebbles data, it cannot view, export, correct, or remotely delete that data. You control local photos through Pebbles' remove and replace controls. To remove all local Pebbles data, remove Pebbles and its companion app from the relevant devices and manage any device backups through your Apple settings.

For information held through support, privacy communications, or website operations, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction, or object to processing where applicable, by emailing dkim@jadonglab.com. Jadonglab may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

You may withdraw from the Google Play waitlist at any time before the launch notice by using that email address. You may also use the unsubscribe option included in the launch notice.

12. Children's privacy

Pebbles is intended for adults and is not designed to request personal information from children. The Google Play waitlist is not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the waitlist or a support request, contact Jadonglab so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Pebbles' features, data practices, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be highlighted where reasonably appropriate.
